Background
J. Evan Shapiro began his legal career as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Whitman Knapp for the Southern District of New York. Mr. Shapiro later served as a litigator with two Am Law 100 law firms – Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and Sullivan & Cromwell LLP – where he represented high-profile clients like Philips Semiconductors (NXP Semiconductors), Calvin Klein, Warner Bros. Records (Warner Records), and International Creative Management (ICM Partners) in antitrust, contract, and products liability cases.
Mr. Shapiro also has decades of experience representing pro bono clients in cases involving the First Amendment, Equal Protection (LGBT rights), and Immigration Law (Deportation and Asylum).
Education
J. Evan Shapiro earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Wesleyan University.
